City of Los Angeles Biological Reports
England|Ecology has completed hundreds of biological reports within the City of Los Angeles since the current processes were developed by Planning in 2023. These processes include the following biological document types, each with their own specific format:
Biological Resources Report (CP-4073): the City’s Biological Resources Report format is the most in-depth of their biological reports. England|Ecology’s reports include a full desktop review of potentially-occurring special status plant and wildlife species, vegetation mapping for a biological study area that includes the project site and an appropriate buffer, and an impact analysis structured per City requirements. England|Ecology’s final Biological Resources Reports, including appendices, are in excess of 100 pages.
Statement of Biological Resources (CP-3613): the Statement of Biological Resources is typically required for smaller projects, or projects on parcels that are expected to have limited biological resources. While the City’s current form does not explicitly state that a report is required, a report is typically required for the form to get accepted. This report includes supporting documentation for the statements on the form. England|Ecology’s final Statement of Biological Resources reports, including attachments, are typically 15-20 pages.
Statement of Habitat (CP-3610): the Statement of Habitat is typically required for projects intending to go through any of the permit streamlining processes available under Senate Bill 9, Senate Bill 35, Assembly Bill 2011, and Senate Bill 684. For each of these, there is a requirement that project site not contain potential habitat for sensitive species. England|Ecology’s final Statement of Habitat reports, including attachments, are typically 15-20 pages.
England|Ecology will not contract with clients for CP-3610 or CP-3613 reports if, when viewing a site on aerial photography, it seems clear that a CP-4073 report will be required. This is to save you, the client, time and money.
